We built ours around layers of pepper: gochugaru for fruity warmth and colour, Kashmiri chilli for gentle heat, and Sichuan pepper for that unmistakable citrusy tingle.
Garlic and ginger bring the savoury punch, Chinese five spice adds aromatic depth, and MSG gives it the proper moreish finish you expect from a great fakeaway.
